The clients brief was to create additional living space directly off the existing kitchen with an extension to the rear deck tying in a natural flow between old and new along with inside and outside living. Large highlight windows allow ultimate control into the newly created high ceiling living spaces.

The adult retreat of master bedroom, ensuite and walk in robe is perched up higher over the new double garage creating its sanctum away from the existing house.

The 3D form was explored through a series of design options where a more traditional pitched roof with batten elements was favoured over more modern styles which holistically complemented the existing house much more sympathetically and allowed the two storey addition to not feel like an add on to the side of the house.
